Happy New Year! Maze Runner Fanfiction

Happy New Year everyone! I don't have anything sappy to say other than just have a good year, spend your time living in the moment instead of worrying about the futcher. Here's the fanfiction I promised you! I warn you, my friend and I ship both Newt and Thomas with cheese (don't ask).

                  New Years Eve

“Come on Tom, we’re going to be late. Get off the couch!” Teresa stood in the doorway of the small living room with her hands on her hips.

“What do you mean? The party doesn't start for an hour babe,” Thomas said without taking his eyes off the tv screen.

“Brenda asked me if we could come early to help decorate, so I said yes. And I thought I told you not to call me that.” She crossed the room to Thomas and swatted him on the head playfully. He ducked and pulled his eyes from the screen to look at her.

It was all he could do to keep his jaw from falling open when he saw her dressed up in a dark blue dress that draped around her with a matching bag. It was simple, but a big change from her normal t-shirt and jeans. “You look… Amazing.”

She smiled and pulled the brunette to his feet. “And you don't, go put something else on!”

“Alright, alright.” Thomas disappeared for a minute and came back wearing a black polo and dress pants. “Better?”

“Yes, now we gotta go.”

Thomas and Teresa arrived at Brenda’s apartment building and went up to the second floor to her door.

“Hey Thomas, Teresa! Happy New Year!” Brenda held the door open and ushered them inside.

“Happy New Year Brenda!” Teresa smiled and looked around. The apartment wasn't big but it wasn't small either. There was a tv and three person couch in the living room, with a hallway leading to a bathroom and bedroom. In the other corner was a respectable sized kitchenette and table. There was a plastic bag of decorating supplies on the counter.

“So, what do you want us to do?” Thomas asked.

“Well, I got some streamers, and those spiral things that hang from the ceiling. I think there are a few folding chairs in the closet, Thomas.” He went to find the chairs and Teresa started rifling through the bag. The girls taped streamers and little decorations that said “Happy New Year!” all over the walls of Brenda’s apartment. When they finished, Brenda took a plate of cheese and crackers from the fridge and put it on the counter along with some soda and paper plates.

They all sat down just in time for a knock to come from the door. Brenda got up and answered it.

“Happy New Year!” Minho and Newt entered the room. Minho, who had refused to dress up wore a t-shirt and those big glasses that had the year on them. Newt wore a polo like Thomas, and had a paper bag in his hands.

“This is for the party,” Newt handed the bag to Brenda and went to greet his other friends.

“More cheese!” Brenda laughed and put Newt's plate of cheese on the counter.

“Good that!” Thomas smirked.

Frypan was the next to arrive, bring his special chilly dogs. Soon everyone had arrived, and they sat around the room laughing and telling stories. They all had hotdogs, and Thomas was devouring too much cheese. It had been a long time since everyone had got together, and there was feeling of home in the air.

The minutes ticked down and everyone gathered around the tv to watch the New York ball drop. Chuck, who had fallen asleep, had to be waken up. Thomas put his arm around Teresa’s waste as the tv started counting down from ten.

“3, 2, 1!”

The giant, silver ball was released and everyone yelled “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” Thomas scanned his friends, Harriet and Sonya laughing, Newt and Minho sharing a gaze that said everything, Chuck jumping circles around Aris. He took all of this in before turning face to face with Teresa. He closed his eyes, and shared their first New Years kiss.

Maze Runner The Choice part 2.5

Thomas sat in the dead heads thinking about what happened that day. Why had he kissed Newt, if he was with Teresa. Why did Newt kissed him? And Teresa, with her beautiful black hair and blue eyes. He hated hurting her. Newt was his best friend, he couldn't be with him, could he? And how would their friendship be affected by what happened?

All these questions raised through his mind until he finally went to get super. Chuck told him Alby was looking for whoever beat up Newt, because Newt wouldn't say who did it; but Thomas wasn't really listening.

Latter that night, Thomas couldn't fall asleep. Teresa wouldn't talk to him, which didn't help Thomas make his decision. He wasn't sure how he felt about Newt, he still wanted to be mad but how could he be, and how long had Newt liked him? The moment Thomas saw Teresa come up in the box, he had felt a connection to her. There was also the feeling of her presence in his mind. The telepathy was strange, but nice. Before sleep could take him, Thomas made up his mind. He didn't know what he was doing when he kissed Newt, they weren't real feelings. Just in the wrong place at the wrong time. If only he could convince Teresa he was sorry, and hope his friendship with Newt wouldn't be affected. Maybe they could forget the kissing ever happened.

The next day Thomas found Newt, he wanted to tell him first.

"Oh, hey Tommy. Is Teresa ok?"

"I don't know, she won't talk to me." Thomas paused. There was no good way to say this. "Newt, about yesterday... I'm sorry shank. I didn't know what I was doing. I hope it won't affect our friendship," Thomas looked at the ground.

"Oh, ok... I get it. I shouldn't have kissed you, I'm sorry," Newt was hurt. He was foolish to think the two of them could be together. Thomas just didn't love him in the same way he did.

"I'm sorry man," Thomas turned and walked away.

"Teresa, please meet me in the dead heads, I really need to talk with you," Teresa didn't reply and he could only hope she would come. He waited in the back of the forest, wringing his hands. Sure, he could just talk to her telepathically, but he wanted to do this in person. She walked up to him from behind the trees.

"Tom?"

"Ok, I'm just going to say it, so hear me out. I'm sorry for yesterday, I didn't know what I was doing. I had so many emotions inside me and I wasn't thinking straight. I shouldn't have kissed Newt, it was a stupid, spur-of-the-moment… thing that shouldn't have happened. You have every right to be mad at me, but I can't stand us not talking," Teresa looked at him, thinking.

"I'm not, mad at you... I'm just hurt that this even happened! I know you didn't mean it, but I can't just forget what happened." Thomas wasn't sure what this meant for them. He walked up to Teresa and she let him take her hand, but when he leaned in to kiss her cheek she pulled away. This was going to take time, but Thomas was willing to see it through.

Maze Runner the Choice Part 2

Thomas sat in the Dead Heads thinking. Teresa had made it clear how she felt, things would be different between them no matter who he chose. He didn't even know why he kissed Newt! It just felt right. But Teresa made him feel warm inside, and her touch was like an angel. Thomas found himself unable to think anymore and his watch told him it was dinner time. He hadn't realized how hungry he was until he thought of Frypan's food. That's what he needed, a nice warm meal.

He sat with Chuck, who as usual, couldn't stop talking. It was a nice distraction until he started talking about Newt.

"One of the gladers beat up Newt today! Alby found him in the bathroom with blood all over his face. Newt won't say who did it though, it's like he wants to protect the shank that did it!"

"Who do you think it was Chuck?" Thomas tried to act natural.

"I don't know. Everyone likes Newt, so it's hard to guess."

Thomas couldn't fall asleep that night. Why did Newt have to kiss him? Everyone knew he and Teresa were a couple. And what if Teresa told Alby what happened?

"Teresa?" He called to her in his mind. When she didn't reply Thomas tried again. "Teresa, I just want to talk!"

"Go away!" She yelled back. She wasn't making this easier. Thomas lay awake for what felt like hours, staring at the stars above his head, thinking of Newt and Teresa. They both meant so much much to him and he didn't want to ruin anything. Finally, he fell asleep.

The next day Thomas still wasn’t allowed to run, so he leaned against a tree at the edge of the Dead Heads and watched Newt talking with Winsten across the glade. He wasn't sure how he felt. Part of him wanted to still be mad at Newt for not letting him run. But the other part of him couldn't stop thinking about what Newt said. He only did it because he cared about Thomas. And the kiss. It felt...good, and fresh. Something he hadn't felt in a long time. It had just felt right to kiss him back. If Thomas knew Teresa was there, would he still have done it? Teresa and him were a couple, whenever Thomas wasn't out running or mapping they were together. And he really did care about her.

Again that night, Thomas couldn't sleep. He hated comparing his two best friends. Teresa had ignored him all day, and it seemed Newt felt embarrassed. He didn't know when, but somehow Thomas realized what he'd been thinking. He'd spent most of the day thinking about Newt, and how the kiss felt, why he kissed him back.he couldn't just ignore his feelings. But how would he tell Teresa?

The next day Thomas walked up to Newt in the field.

"Hey Tommy," Newt stopped working.

"Hey."

"Look, I'm sorry for the other day. If you want me to talk to Teresa, I'll tell her it's all fault. I shouldn't Have kissed you," Thomas didn't say anything. "You ok Tomm-" Newt couldn't finish his sentence because Thomas had taken his head, pulling Newt close and kissing him. When they finally pulled apart, Newt didn't know what to say. Then he was staring at something behind Thomas. Thomas turned to look and saw Teresa watching them.

"I'm sorry," he said her mind.

"I know. Goodbye, Tom." Teresa turned and walked away. Although he was sad, Thomas smiled at Newt and took his hand, lacing their fingers together.

Maze Runner Fanfiction- "The Choice" No Spoilers

Maze Runner the Choice

Newt was sitting behind the homestead when Thomas stomped up to him, fists clenched and his face full of anger. Surprised, Newt stood up. Without hesitating, Thomas raised a fist and punched Newt in the face. Newt stumbled back, holding a hand on his bleeding nose.

"What's bloody wrong with you Tommy?" Newt cried.

"What's wrong? Minho, just told me you said, not to let me run the Maze!"

"Tommy," Newt didn't know what to say. Yes, he had told Minho not to let him run, but he was only looking out for him. lately, the job seemed to be consuming Thomas.

"If you have a problem with me, Newt, say it to my face!" When Newt didn't reply Thomas shoved him and he stumbled, falling on his back with a thump.

"Get up and fight me shank!"

"No," Newt stammered, he didn't want to hurt Thomas. Suddenly, Thomas was on top of him, pinning his body between his legs, an arm raised ready to hit Newt again. All he ever wanted was to be a runner, and his so called 'friend', Newt had taken it away from him. He couldn't control his anger.

"Why not?" Thomas said through gritted teeth. Frightened, Newt saw no other way out than the truth.

"I bloody love you, Tommy," Newt said quietly. Stunned, Thomas froze, his arm hung in the air. He didn't know what to do. Newt reached up and grabbed Thomas's shirt, pulling him closer and kissing him. Thomas slowly lowered his arm and kissed Newt back. He jerked his head up when he heard a noise coming from the Dead Heads. Thomas could barely see the figure of a girl, running deeper into the forest. Teresa. How much had she seen? Thomas stumbled off of Newt.

"No one finds out about this." Then he got up and ran after Teresa. Newt lay on the ground, trying to make sense of what just happened. Slowly, he got up and walked to the bathroom to wash the blood from his face.

She kept running until she reached the back of the Dead Heads, crumpling into a ball against the cool stone wall. She hadn't seen everything, but just enough. It looked like Thomas was about to punch Newt, but then, they kissed. She heard the crunching of leaves, and raised her head to see Thomas walking toward her.

"Teresa," he called her name, but she just looked away. "Why were you spying on me Teresa?" He stood at her feet, looking down at her.

"I wasn't!" she snapped, suddenly angry. "I was just walking through the Dead Heads, when I heard someone yelling and went to see. Then, I found you on Newt, and you guys kissed," Still hugging her knees, Teresa stared at Thomas's shoes. He sat down next to her and crossed his legs.

"Teresa, I-" she cut him off.

"I thought we had something, Tom. I thought you liked me. I guess I was wrong."

"I do! I just. Newt, he-" Thomas stopped. There was no use making excuses, nothing he could say would make it better.

"Did all those times we had together mean nothing to you?" She asked. The forest used to be a special place for them. A memory crossed her mind of them sitting together under a tree. Thomas had his arm around Teresa and she snuggled in his huddy. That was the night Thomas told Teresa how much he liked her, it seemed distant now. Thomas spoke, waking her from the memory.

"No! I just-"

"You're going to have to chose, Tom. It's me, or him."

"I'm sorry." He said in her mind.

"Leave me alone until you've made a decision," Teresa replied out loud, and walked away. Thomas sat there, not knowing what to do. How could he choose between two of his best friends?

Who do you think think Thomas will chose? Who do you ship more? I ship both. I'm planing on writing two more parts where he choose one and then the other. Don't forget to comment!
